Permission in the open countryside and Green Belt for commercial development
Permission granted this week in the Metropolitan Green Belt…
A café which popped up on-farm during the pandemic has gone from strength to strength, however its current location being fundamentally at odds with Green Belt policy rendered a need now to make things lawful.
While suitable alternative premises elsewhere on the farm are sourced, applied for and prepared, temporary permission for 3-years was necessary in the mean-time to allow the café to continue trading, growing and to protect the jobs of its staff.
A welcome and refreshingly pragmatic decision made by a communicative and understanding Planning Officer keen to support the farm’s wider, longer term objectives for both food production and re-use of its rather pleasant range of traditional farm buildings.
